IMPREST SUPPLY BILL PASSED.

(By Telegraph—“ The Age” Special.) WELLINGTON, September 1. The usual monthly Imprest Supply Bill for was passed at tonight’s sitting of the House. Mr. H. E. Holland, Leader of the Labour Party, provoked a discussion at the last moment by reviving his condemnation ■of , the Government for importing Australia:; coal. A spirited defence was made by the Minister of Labour (the Hon. S. G. Smith) who quoted' details of coal mine stoppages, declaring that there was something wrong with the men’s leadership when complete confidence in the possibility of a continuous coal supply had been destroyed. The Bill was passed unamended at 11.35 p.m. and the House adjourned till Wednesday evening. The Prime Minister gave notice to introduce the Rural Intermediate Credits Amendment Bill.
