The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—The centre of the recent disturbance crossed the northern districts during Monday night and since moved to the vicinity of the Chatham Islands; a slight anti-eyclone is situated over the Western Tasman Sea while a shallow cyclone is centred' north of Victoria; the forecast is for south-wester-ly winds, strong at places along the east coast and in the far north but decreasing, elsewhere, moderate; weather mainly fair On the west coast of the South Inland, elsewhere changeable, with scattered showers but improving; cool tempera.tufes.
