GREYTOWN HOSPITAL.
ADMISSION OF ACCIDENT CASES. (To the Editor.) Sir, —The last thing I desire is to be drawn into a newspaper discussion of the recent unfortunate accident near Grey town, but in justice to Mr. McLeod and his son, who rendered every assistance possible following the accident, I feel it to be only my duty to state what happened at the Greytown Hospital. Quite ten minutes w r ere taken up in a discussion between Mr. McLeod and the Matron as to whether or not Mrs. Beetham, Senr., should be admitted to the Hospital. To say that either Mr. McLeod or the Matron lost their heads is ridiculous. Mr. McLeod was quietly insistent that Mrs. Beetham be admitted, at least for nursing examination and dressing; the Matron was equally insistent that her instructions precluded the admission of such cases. It is only right I should further add that after the Matron finally gave way, both Mrs. Beetham, Senr., and myself received every kindness and attention in the hospital at the hands of the Matron and staff.—l am, etc.. E. S. BEETHAM.
