PRIMARY SCHOOLS RUGBY TOURNAMENT.

AN EXPRESSION OF THANKS.

Sir, —May I -beg a little space to convey the thanks of the Wanganui, Wellington and Manawatu representatives at the recent tournament of primary schools’ Rugby teams, to those people of the Wairarapa who billeted the visiting boys for the week? This was even more appreciated owing to the present stress and all the boys and their managers spoke very highly of the treatment that had been lavished on them. We would also add our own thanks to these people for helping us so very fully to make the tournament a success. Also we wish to thank Messrs. Thos. Borthwick & Sons, Ltd., their manager (Mr. E. G. Norman) and members of the staff for their courtesy and interest when showing the boys over the works; the members of the Rotary Club for their generous and much appreciated contribution to the entertainment; the Referees’ Association and Rugby Union; Messrs. G. H. Perry & Co., and Mr. Stubbs, Carterton, for courtesies received; the Regent Theatre (Mr. A. Tong) for meeting us with regard to entertainment and Mr. H. Hall, of the Carterton Tivoli Theatre and all others who assisted in making the tournament a success.
