DEATH OF TWO HORSES.

COMPETING IN STEEPLES EVENT. DUNEDIN, August 31. At the Hunt Club’s Point-to-Point Steeplechase, Rosethorn broke his neck while competing -in the OpOn Steeples. He was engaged to run at the Otago Hunt Club meeting next Saturday, and at the Dunedin Jockey Club meeting. Mystery also dropped dead after running five miles over the fences.—(P.A.)
