JOHNSONVILLE SALE.
A fall in the price of ox beef was shown at the Johnsonville .stock sale on Tuesday. Wether mutton was firm. An average yarding of -grown cattle and a smaller entry than usual of vealers were offered by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd. Sheep were penned up to the usual numbers. Prices for cattle showed ® decline on last week’s rates, bullocks being down fully 10/- to 15/- per head, while cows vzere slightly easier. Vealers were on a par with late rates, while ewes showed no alteration in prices. No lambs came forward. Prices ranged as follow: Heavy bullocks, £9/7/6 to £8 10/-; bullocks, £B/2/6 to £7/10/-; bullocks, plain and unfinished, £6/15/- to £4/7/6; cows, heavy, £5/5/- to £4/15/-; cows, £4/5/- to £3/17/6; vealers, £2 to £l/10/-; wethers, extra heavy, I 18/- .to 17/3; wethers', heavy, 17/- to I 16/6; wethers, I'6/- to 15/6; ewes, heavy, 14/10 to .13/9; ewes, 13/6 to 13/-.
