PRICE OF GAS.
REDUCTION IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, July 14. The Auckland Gas Company has decided to reduce the price of gas by 3d per 1000 cubic, feet beyond the first 1000 cubic feet consumed per month on each meter, as from August I. The reduction will bo effected by increasing the discount allowed to consumers. The reduction will amount to about £14,000' per annum, thus passing on to the public the full extent of the wage cut. The retail price of coke is to be reduced by 10s per ton.—(P.A.)
