BUILDING SOCIETIES.
WORKERS’ MUTUAL BENEFIT. DIRECTORS’ MEETING. A meeting of the Workers’ Mutual Benefit No. 1 Building Society was held last night. There were present: Messrs R. Krahagen (chairman), J. C. Ewington, H. O. Fowles, G. Hyde, J. A. Russell, A. W. McKenzie, A. P. Smith, A. J. H. Bidden and A. H. Eddy. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £823 17s 9d, with liabilities at £oB's. A firm of solicitors advised that a shareholder had executed a further mortgage to the society for £240 and another shareholder had executed one for £260. A shareholder applied for permission to transfer the subscriptions paid on his two shares to the repayment account and repay his loan of £5Bl to the society. A firm of solicitors forwarded release of mortgages on behalf of a shareholder for execution by the directors. A property owned by a shareholder in Villa Street was submitted for an advance of £4OO. The Valuation Committee recommended the property as security. B GROUP. . At a meeting of the B Group, at which the same directors were present, the treasurer reported a credit balance of £9’35 10s 9d, with liabilities of £l2OO. An application for two new shares was granted. Two applications for the transfer of shares were also granted.
