THE W.E.A. AND THE TRUST.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—I will be pleased if you will publish the following reply to Mr. M. G. Mackay’s letter re above published in your issue, 13/6/31. My answer to Mr. Mackay’s question is “No.” Further, I am not concerned with Mr. Mackay’s inferences and twisted deductions from my remarks. The question to be answered is this: “Is the W.E.A. as at present being conducted, carrying out the work as outlined by a deputation when the grant was made?” Those carrying on the work will have an opportunity of answering this if they propose asking for a continuation of the grant. By the way, Bir, I am sorry there was a slight error in yourreport of my remarks re the above. Ths words I used were “mutual improvement society,” not “admiration society,” as reported in your paper.— I am, etc., JAS. M. CORADINE. Masterton, June 13.
