HELP FOR Y.M.C.A.
DEPUTATION WAITS ON TRUST LANDS TRUST. GRANT OF £l5O MADE. At its meeting last month, the Trust Lands Trust decided, with reference to a request by a deputation from the Masterton Y.M.C.A. for financial assistance, to obtain from that body in the first place an assurance that satisfactory financial arrangements could be made for carrying on its work. After receiving a second deputation from the Y.M.C.A. last evening, the £lso'" decided t 0 a grant of The assurance asked for by the Trust together with details of the big fundraising effort now under way. was given to the Trust by last evening’s deputation. A comprehensive budget, prepared by Mr. P. A. Macomish, was tabled, giving details of estimated receipts and. expenditure. The deputation was assured of sympathetic consideration. When the estimates were being considered later in the meeting, Mr. R. Krahagen moved that a grant of £250 '><■ nmde to the Y.M.C.A. Watson, who observed that the association was a community concern and was doing very valuable work A general discussion ensued, in the course of which an amendment, that the sum of £l5O be nlaeed oh the, estimates and that the matter bn given further favourable consideration in two months’ time was moved.
