The New Zealand Meat Producers 1 Board has received the following cable from its London Office, dated May T, advising that the following are the ap proximate average wholesale prices per lb. realised for the week:— N.Z. Sheep Selected Canterbury and North Island crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, 48/56, 3|d; 57/64, 3 5-8 d; 65/72, 3 3-8 d; North Island do., 48/56, 3 5-8 d; 57/64, 3 3-8 d; 65/72, 3£d; ewes u/48, 3 l-8d; 48/64, 2fd; 6'5/72, 2jd. N.Z. Lambs: Canterbury, u/36, 6Jd; 37/42, 64d; 43/50 1 , 6 3-8 d; second quality, average 33, 54d. Other South Island brands, u/36, 6 3-8 d; 37/42, 6 3-Bd. Selected North Island brands, including Downs, u/36, 64d; 37/42, 43/50, 6 3-8 d; second quality, av. 31, 5Jd. Australian Lambs: Victorian first quality, u/36, sd; 37/42, sd. Argentine Lamb: First quality, u/36, 4Jd; 37/42, 44d. N.Z. Beef: Not quoted. Argentine Chilled Beef: Ox fores, 3d; hinds, 6|d. Australian Frozen Beef: Ox crops, o/100, 24d; hinds, o/16-O 1 , 3 5-Bd. N.Z. Prime Porker Pigs: 60/100, 5 fd; 101/120, sd. N.Z. prime baconer pigs, 121/180-, sid. N.Z. Frozen Veal: Not quoted.

Lambs: Market is firmer with better prices. Consumption remains excellent. Mutton Market: Wethers, steadier with better demand generally. Ewes, meeting with better enquiry. Frozen Beef: Dull and neglected. N.Z. Porker Pigs: Market is firmer, but consumption falling off. N.Z. Baconer Pigs: There is very little enquiry.
