The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—A rather sharp depression has been passing rapidly east of the Dominion to-day. A moderate anti-cyclone is moving over the northern Tasman Sea while a new depression is now covering south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds, moderate to strong southwesterly decreasing and later veering to westerlies again in the south. Weather, cool and changeable with showers at first in most districts Ibut soon improving generally.
