PAHIATUA SPRING CATTLE FAIR.

The Wairarapa Fanners’ Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd. (Stock Department) report having held their annual Pahiatua spring cattle fair yesterday as follows: The entry did not come forward up to advertised numbers, principally owing to vendors not being prepared to meet the present low prices. Buyers were present from all the surrounding districts. We can only report a somewhat dragging sale with prices on a par with recent sales. We quote: Fat bullocks, £l3 12/-; 3 and 4-year bullocks, £7 15/-; 3-year bullocks, £7 7/6, £7 2/6, £6 15/- and £6 10/-; 2-year mixed coloured steers, £5 4/-; yearling P.A. steers, £4 1/-, £4, to £3 8/-; 2-year Hereford heifers, £4 5/-; yearling P.A. heifers, £2 8/6, £2 5/-; empty forward cows, £7 7/-, £5 7/-, £5; m.s. yearlings, poor condition, £1 19/-.
