T. H. HOBTON WINS SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. MASTERTON CLUB EVENTS. Games for the senior and junior championships of the Masterton Golf Club were continued by members at the Lansdowne links at the week-end. The final of the senior championship was fought out between T. H. Horton and J. Hornabrook, the former winning, 4 and 3 after a keenly contested game, in which the standard of play was at all times high. The weather conditions—a stiff wind blew for the greater part of the game—were not favourable to good play. Horton did the morning round in 75 and Hornabrook in 76. Horton started badly in the afternoon round. However, he got going well in the middle of the round and was 5 up. Then Hornabrook, who was playing splendidly, won a couple of holes. Horton, however, continued to play steady golf to win by 5 up and 3 to play. Another evenly contested game was a semi-final, between J. Hornabrook and J. Jameson. Jameson was right on form and was only beaten 1 up at the 19th. The following are the results:— Senior Championship.—Semi-final: T. H. Horton beat Campbell Heard, 4 and 2; J. Hornabrook beat J.
