MUSIC WEEK.
BOX PLAN OPENING. Season ticket holders are again reminded that the box plan for Music Week concerts opens on Monday morning at Arts and Crafts, where scats may be booked, free of charge, for the season of five nights. The plan for day sales will open on Wednesday morning with a booking fee of sixpence. Holders of season tickets have therefore, a two days ’ priority at no extra cost, and as the booking is expected to be heavy early attention will be necessary. Tickets are obtainable from members of the committee, choirs and schools, or from the secretary, Mr. E. Bell, Leecroft Chambers.
The programme for the week will be finalised on Monday evening and printed for free distribution a day or two afterwards.
The essential idea is to get as many as possible taking part in the production of good and popular music. All tastes will be catered for, and so that everybody may participate each evening will open with a specially selected list of community songs. Masterton in for a week of joyous music and it hoped to make the occasion an annual one.
Following is a short summary of each evening’s programme:—Monday, school ehoirs; Tuesday, Carterton Choral Society; Wednesday, Masterton Savage Club and Amateur Theatrical Society; Thursday, Masterton Orchestral Society; Saturday, adult choirs and Wellington Apollo Singers.
