Mr. P. L. Hoilings had to enter the Masterton Hospital during the weekend. He is reported to be improving. lister Haliburton, senior sister on the Greytown Hospital staff, has resigned in view of her approaching marriage. Afr. W. H. Flint, general manager of Messrs. Thomas Borthwick and Sons (N.Z.), Ltd., left Christchurch for Wellington last Saturday. He will spend a few days in the North Island and will then leave for London. Motions of condolence were passed at the annual meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association yesterday with Messrs R. Harris, W. S. L. Dickson, Jas. McGovern, H. C. Montgomery, and Mesdames Martin and R. J. Martin, m< be: , or the wives of members who had suffered bereavements. The friends of Mr. Eli Smith, J.P., of Masterton, will regret to learn that he has just received tl ...id cnee of the death, at (Warwickshire), of his only surviving brother and sister who died within a short time of each other. Nurse Thwaites contracted scarlet fever and complications followed leading to her death. A brother and aunt reside in Wellingt on, where the funeral took place yesterday.
