DARING HOLD-UP.
MASKED BANDITS RAID SYDNEY ’BUS. •CONDUCTOR’B CASH TAKEN. SYDNEY, August 11. A daring hold-up took place in the suburb of Newtown. Two masked bandits jumped on a crowded ’bus about midnight and iat the reFolver point bailed up the driver and conductor, at the same time ordering the passengers to keep their seats. The driver, James Rowe, was commanded not to stop the vehicle, and the conductor, Edward Burns, was forefed to relinquish ia bag containing about £l5. In the meantime the passengers were in a panic, two women fainting. While the ’bus was still in motion the robbers leaped clear and made a getaway.
