NAVAL BUILDING.
PROGRAMME SUBMITTED BY NAVAL STAFF. FOUR SIX-INCH GUN CRUISERS AND ’PLANE CARRIER. (Received Monday, 7 p.m.) LONDON, August 11. To remedy deficiencies under the London Pact, the Navy Staff has presented a programme including four cruisers of 8609 tons each armed with six-inch guns, one aeroplane carrier of twelve thousand tons and also an additional fifteen aviation corps (? squadrons). The expenditure involved will be fifty millions sterling.
