THE FINAL TEST.
PERSONNEL OF BRITISH TEAM. SATURDAY’S RUGBY EVENT. WELLINGTON, August 6. The following team has been selected to represent Great Britain in the final Test match on Saturday:—J. Bassett, J. S. R. Reeve, H. M. Bowcott, C. D. Aarvold, A. L. Novis, R. S. Spong, T. P. Murray, H. Rew, D. A. Kendrew, H. O’Neill, B. H. Black, J. L. Farrell, W. B. Welch, G. R. Beamish, Ivor Jones.—(PA.) BROADCAST ARRANGEMENTS. WELLINGTON, August 6. Matters in connection with the Fourth Test match were further advanced by the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union tonight. At the suggestion of the Canterbury Union it was decided to inform the Radio Broadcasting Company that the report of the match could be rebroadcast from their Christchurch station. ~- A letter was received from the secretary of Commodore Blake, at Auckland, thanking the New Zealand Union for inviting him to attend. Invitations to attend the test as guests of the New Zealand Union were accepted by the Hons. A. J. Stall worthy, W. B. Taverner, S. G. Smith, J. G. Cobbe, Sir Thomas Sidey, A. J. Murdoch and Mr. H. E. Holland. The following reinstatements were approved: R. Callinan (Auckland), L. Simmons (Auckland). —(P.A.) REFEREE SELECTED. WELLINGTON, August 6. Mr. F. E. Sutherland, of Auckland, has been chosen by the British team officials to act as referee of the fourth Test next Saturday. He officiated in the British team’s match with the Maoris at Wellington. Mr. S. Hollander, of Christchurch, was unable to act in the final Test.—(P.A.)
