The Rev. J. Cocker, of Masterton, left for Wellington yesterday. The Rev. W. Beckett, who has been attending the Kuripuni Methodist Sunday School jubilee, .returned yesterday morning to Levin. Mr. Noel Swain, late of the Manual Training Centre, Wellington has been appointed to succeed Mr. D. Grant as Instructor in Woodwork in the South Wairarapa bcdiools. The Rev. E. D. Patchett, who attended the concluding day’s programme of the Kuripuni Sunday School jubilee celebrations, left Masterton for Wellington yesterday morning. Eulogistic reference was made at a meeting of St. Matthew’s Scout Committee last evening to the great interest taken in the movement by the late Mrs J. McGovern, of Mauriceville. The late Mrs McGovern took an active part in Scout affairs and her death was a loss to the movement in the Mauriceville district. The institution of the vicar-elect of St Matthew’s Church, the Rev. E. J. Rich, will take place in the church on Tuesday evening next. The ceremony will be conducted by Archdeacon A. L. Hansell. At the conclusion of the service a social of welcome by parishioners will be extended to the Rev. E. J. Rich and Mrs Rich in the Parish Hall.
