BOARDINGHOUSES ENTERED. ONE MAN CHASED BUT- GETS AWAY. AUCKLAND, August 5. Two city -boardinghouses were visited by thieves early this morning. At one Symonds Street esteblshment the rooms of two pressmen and another boarder were visited, clothing being rifled and £lO stolen. h At Grafton Road an overseas visitor 'sleeping with his wife was awakened at 5 a.m. to find an intruder going through the pockets of his clothes. He shouted for help and chased the thief on to the verandah, but the thief jumped off the landing to the pavement below and dashed off, with several boarders in pursuit, and escaped. No money is missing, but the visitor lost a wallet containing passports and pension papers.—’(P.A.)
