PERSONAL.

The new vicar of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Wellington, the Rev. W. Bullock, was inducted by the Bishop of Wellngton, Bishop Sprott, on Sunday evening. The churchwardens! and the vestry met the choir and the clergy at the west door of th© church, and preceded them to the chancel, where the Bishop took his seat, the new vicar being placed in front of him. After prayers had been said, the Bishop called upon the Rev. W. Bullock to make the necessary declarations. He then handed to him his license, and gave him his blessing. Evensong followed, Bishop Sprott being the preacher. The death occurred ih Wellington yesterday of Mr. John Prouse, a notable, figure in music circles in New Zealand, aged 75 years. He was a. distinguished baritone singer and had toured with famous artists, including Kubelik, Melba, Baekhaus and Dolores. His greatest achievements were in Oratorio- and he had sung in the Albert and Queen’s Halls. For thirty-five years he was associated with St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral Choir. He was born in Wainuiomata, where his father settled in 1841 and was a successful business man- in the timber trade. He leaves a widow, three sons and two daughters. The sons are Messrs William Prouse, architect; Oliver Prouse, solicitor, Wellington, and George Prouse, Milan, Italy.— (P.A.)
