RETURNED SOLDIERS.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The Executive Committee of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers ’ Association met on Thursday night. Mr. W. R. Bur eh presided, land other members present were Messrs J. H. Irving* G. N. Permain, J. McGregor and L. S. Nicol, and the secretary, Mr. A. E. Prentice. Apologies for absence were received from E. C. Fowler and C. D. Robertson. As evidence that the Association is active, no less than eleven new members were elected. At the present time there are 7-6 financial members. Messrs Burch and McGregor were appointed a hospital visiting committee. The secretary reported a credit balance of £341 in the general account, and a credit of £lB3 in the Poppy Day Fund. A sub-committee consisting of the chairman (Mr. Burch) the secretary (Mr. Prentice), and Mr. Irving, was set up to bring down tai report in regard to the permanent improvements to the soldiers’ plot in the Masterton Cemetery. It was decided to interview the Borough Council Cemetery Committee in regard to this matter.
