PLUNKET SHIELD. OTAGO AND WELLINGTON. DUNEDIN, January 31. A Plunket Shield match between Otago and Wellington commenced today in showery weather on an easy wicket. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat and when stumps were drawn had lost nine wickets for <283 runs. McGirr gave a good display of sound correct batting, but the best innings of the day was that of Badcock who gavea sparkling exhibition of scoring all round the wicket. He Scored 62 in 72 minutes. McGirr made 73 but he gave a good chance at 35 which was not taken. The pick of the Otago bowlers was Lemin, who took four wickets for 61 runs.
