MT. HOLDSWORTH CLUB.

ABT UNION AUTHORISED. The Mount Holdsworth Club has been granted permission by the Minister of Internal Affairs to hold an art union in aid of its improvement fund. The object in view is to raise funds to meet the cost of repairing the bunks and other interior equipment of the mountain house, which is available to visitors from all parts of New Zealand. The ‘prize in the art union will be a doll in a cot of approved Plunket design made and presented by inmates of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind in appreciation of what Masterton people have done for them. The doll, presented by Mr. F. Norris, the secretary of the Mount Holdsworth Club, will be named “Miss 1930,” and it is hoped that she will attract many goodwill offerings to a club which has done and is doing good service for the district. The doll and cot will be prettily dressed and decorated, the cot in red, white and blue, by Masterton ladies. The prize will be exhibited and the sale of tickets will .begin at an early date and it is proposed that the draw ing should take place on December 31.
