SWISS AIRMAN SETS OUT. DEPARTURE FROM LISBON. LISBON, August 19. Kaeser, a Swiss airman, has started in a monoplane in an attempt at a non-stop flight to New York.—(Australian Press Association.) REPORTED NEAR AZORES. GOOD WEATHER PROSPECTS. PONTA DEtLGARDA (Azores), August 19. The transatlantic aeroplane “Young Switzerland,” en route from Lisbon to New York, was reported passing the island of Terceira at 4 p.m. local time, apparently heading for Halifax, and making a fine speed. The motors were working well. The flyers have apparently averaged about 100 miles an hour so far. The Weather Bureau predicts favourable weather for the entire flight with the exception of a slight area of depression north-east of Azores.—(Australian Press Association.)
