HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT.

A BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT. A capacity house greeted the WaiTarapa High School's concert, which Rvas presented in St. Matthew's Parish Hall last evening. The items on the programme, which were excellently rendered, and the pleasing variety of the numbers delighted the audience, which made its appreciation known in no uncertain way. The proceedings went •with a swing from start to finish and kept the spectators constantly amused with first-class fare. Probably the most attractive features of the evening's entertainment were the items by the or-hestra and those by the singing class, respectively under the direction of Mr. R. J. Young, and Mr. T. Vaughan. The standard of excellence attained by both the orchestra and the Binging classes must be most gratifying to those who are responsible for the of the pupils. No less enterwere two playettes, both of were creditably interpreted by impersonators. A vocal solo by W. Lawrence and a story without words by Form IVA added to the success of the evening's entertainment. The accompaniments were played by Mr Vaughan. Following is the programme:—“Triumphal March”, and “Minuet,” Orchestra; “How Can I Laugh” and <4 The Harvesters,” Girls' Singing Beauty Parlour,” story Without words, Form IVa.; “The Sowers’ Song.” vocal solo, W.
