POSTED AS LOST.
SOUTHLAND FISHING CRAFT. INVERCARGILL, March 24. It is reported from Bluff that it must be accepted as a fact that tragedy has overtaken the crew of the missing fishing vessel Twilight. It is a month since the vessel was last seen, and it is learned that she was provisioned for a three-day cruise only. Exhaustive searches have been carried out by vessels eastward and westward of Foveaux Straits, one vessel having gone as far as Dusky Sound, whilst all the outlying islands round about Stewart Island have been < visited in the hope that the men may have reached land. The crew comprised: Wm. Hanning (master), J. Stewart and C. Traill. Hanning was a thoroughly experienced man, having spent practically all his life in the fishing industry about Bluff and Stewart Island.-—(P.A.)
