Shade temperature, maximum, 75;. minimum,' 39.4; terrestrial, 29.8. Frost, 2.2 de-| grees; bright sunshine, Saturday, 9hrs 18min; Sunday, 10 hours. Weekly Report.—Highest maximum shade temperature, 80.8; lowest minimum, 39.2; extreme range, 41.6; bright sunshine, 38 hours 30 minutes; rain, 41 points; wind, 519 miles. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—High pressure has been maintained, anti-cyclone still being centred east and west of New Zealand respectively. A moderate depression is moving across Tasmania. Forecast: Light and variable at first, but later northerly prevailing, and freshening from Cook Strait southwards. Seas (New Zealand waters) generally smooth to moderate. Winds becoming northerly generally and freshening, seas smooth to moderate. A continuance of fine weather is still indicated, but later some showers probable on the West Coast of the South Island, and in parts of Otago. Cool to-night, but warm day temperatures. Lighting-up time—s. 47 p.m.
