On the same programme is -a joyous comedy, starring Reginald Denny. “The Night Bird” is a very amusing story of a girl-shy prize fighter who is forced to mingle in New York's night life Seats for this excellent programme 1 may be reserved at Vare’s music house. TO-NIGHT ONLY Romance and drama are blended in “The Mating Call,” which will be ■shewn for to-night only at the Opera House. “The Mating Call” is the stirring film dramatisation of the famous novel by Rex Beach. The story deals with a hard-working Floridia farmer, who, disappointed in l-ove, seeks a woman to help with his farm. He marries a waif of a girl, whom he finds at Ellis Island and, in the subsequent trials and tribulations that befall them on the Florida farm, he learns to love her and she him. It affords Meighan one of the greatest characterisations of his career. “The Mating Call” -is rich in love-interest, and Meighan is presented with dual .feminine support in the pretty persons 'of Evelyn Brent and Renee Adoree, Misg Brent as a eharming society queen and Miss Adoree as a comely Russian
