Y.M.C.A. WORK.
ANNUAL MEETING OF LADIES’ AUXILIARY A SUCCESSFUL YEAR There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. held in the Association’s rooms on Wednesday afternoon. The president, Mrs A. Cameron, presided. In her annuel report the honorary secretary, Mrs A. Kilgour, referred > to the devoted work of the president during the past year, and stated that it was largely due to the enthusiasm of Mrs Cameron that the Auxiliary had been able to accomplish so much. At the end of the year the membership of the Auxiliary had increased to 31, including 13 honorary and 18 active members. The work of the Auxiliary during the year had been mainly of a social nature, supervising the decorations and refreshments at such functions as the Mother and Son Tea, the Father and Son Banquet, the Annual Tea, combined Auxiliary and Directors’ Teas, a Mothers’ Afternoon, Sunday Teas and social evenings for both juniors and seniors. During the year the Auxiliary had controlled its own finance and as a result of a small shop effort and a gift fund had secured sufficient funds to invest in some muchneeded crockery. Special thanks were accorded the president and directors of the association, the Press, and the General Secretary for help given, in various ways. The treasurer, Mrs T. L. Elder, in
presenting her report, stated that the, total receipts for the year were £2O 17*s 7d, of which there still remained in' hand £9 6s 2d as a credit balance. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted in the if olio wing being re-elected: President, Mrs A. Cameron; vice-presidents, Mesdames Kerr, Morris and Coleman; honorary secretary, Mrs A. Kilgour; honorary treasurer, Mrs T. L. Elder. Mrs T. Moor sent in her resignation! as an active member -of the Auxiliary and it was unanimously decided that Mrs Moor had given many years of service to the Auxiliary ©he. should be made a life member. Two new active members and one honorary member were proposed and accepted at the meeting.
