RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE OPAKI CLUB SERVICE CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY AIR. R. J. KING. Twenty members attended the annua! musketry course of the Opaki Rifle Club on the Fairview Range on Saturday. The Alaunsell Cup, for the highest scorer, was won by R. J. King, with :E. M. Wrigley second. The course consists of five practices, viz., grouping at :100 yards, application, snap and rapid lat 200 yards, and application at 300

Out of the 20 members, 13 gained their marksmen badges (80 points or over), and the remainder all qualified. Next Saturday the club will complete the championship series, when all the [major trophies will be decided. Keen competition is expected as the leading men are closely bunched together. The leading aggregates in following trophies are:— Club Championship.—E. M. Wrigley, 208; R. J. King, 206; H. H. Mawley, 208.
Handicap Championship.—H. Duley, 201; J. McKenzie, 209; T. Young, 208. Afinton Afemorial Bowl.—R. J. King 439: E. AL Wrigley, 438; H. Duley, 438. Wrigley Rose Bowl.—G. H. Murdoch, R. McPherson and J. Dean.
