LANSDOWNE SCHOOL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE DENTAL CLINIC WORK At the monthly meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee there were present, Messrs D. A. Pickering (chairman!). T. Bacon, A. C. Cameron', A. H. Clarke, H. V. Haise, H. S. McLaren, A. M. Sanson, E. Welch, R. Whyborn and L H. Arcue (headmaster). The Wellington Education Board advised that the questions of heating the open-air room and improved ventilation for the main school would be <’onsider?d at the next meeting of the board. The headmaster reported a roll number of 323, with, an average attendance, during the last five weeks, of 305 ’or 96 per cent. Routine matters relative to repairs were authorised to be 1 carried out and the secretary was instructed to write to 1 the board in connection with improvements for wfaica the board was liable. A vote of thanks was passed to all those who kindly lent cars on the occasion of the annual picnic and the members expressed their appreciation of the valuable assistance which was rendered. In response to a request from, the executive of the Dental Clinic, the committee authorised an appeal to parents for financial assistance. This appeal will be issued shortly and it is hoped that advantage will be taken by those who have benefited, and others who desire to encourage the clinic in the work it is doing. Tenders for the tennis court and. basketball ground, were considered but a. final decision was deferred for a. few days.
Messrs H. S. McLaren and E. Welch were appointed visitors for April.
