A PLEASANT FUNCTION.
METHODIST GARDEN PARTY.
A very successful garden party in aid of the Masterton Methodist Church wa. held on Saturday at the residence o. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Handyside, ; ai Lansdowne. All present spent a verj pleasant afternoon and a sum of about £3O was taken. On the motion of the Rev. E. O. Blamires, the Rev. J. Cocker seconding a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr. and Mrs. Handyside, and to all who had worked for the success of the function, amongst them Mr W. H. Saunders, who provided some excellent music with an H.M.V. gramophone. The stallholders, etc., were as follow:—Cake: Mesdames A. Thomas, A. Weller, Nellie Miller, A. E. Freeman and Misses E. Jones and E. Beale. Miscellaneous: Mesdames R. Russell, C. H. Anderson and Sleeman. Produce: Mesdames W. H. Judd and Blinkhorne and Miss Donald. Afternoon Tea: Mesdames J. Handysidc, Brailsford, White, B. Iveson, Handyside, senr., Misses Ninnes and Smith. Tennis: Mr Austin Thomas. Competitions: Mrs S. J. Smith. Sweets: Misses Gladys Judd, Gladys Bolton and Jean DrcXv. Wedding cake: Mr. B. Ivoson, Esma Byford and Mavis Taylor.
