MASTERTON SALE The New Zealand Farmers’- Co-op-erative Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their Masterton .sale as follows: We had a good yarding of sheep, which were offered to a large attendance of buyers. Competition for all lines was very keen, every pen being sold at auction at the following prices: 100 medium b.f. lambs, 23s Id; 100 b.f. lambs 22s 9d; 124 small b.f. lambs, 20s 3d; 63 fat lambs, 25s lOd; 131 shorn ewe lambs, 31s 3d; 40 fat ewes, 335; 26 forward wethers, 375; 18 store wethers, 325; 1 Jersey heifer, £6 ss; 1 Jersey bull, £5; 5 slips, 21s. The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association Ltd., report having offered a medium entry of both sheep and cattle. Prices were fully maintained on late rates, as follows: 99 b.f hoggets, 23s 2d; 19 wether hoggets, 24s 7d; 12 fat shorn lambs, 26s 9d; 12 2-th ewes r.w. Romney rams, 345; 6 fat cows and heifers, £9 ss, £9 10s to £9 17s 6d; store cows, £3 2s fid to £4; 1 dairy cow at drop, £9 15s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on tho Masterton sale as follows: 4- small entry of sheep and cattle was submitted to a large attendance of buyers. Competition was exceptionally keen throughout the sale, with prices as follows: Account Mrs Holmes, Matahiwi Estate, 120 prime heavy ewes, 34s lOd; account other vendors, forwards lambs 25s 9d; empty store ewes, 17s; 2-year P.A. heifers, £5 10s. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: We offered a fair yarding of sheep to a good attendance. Sheep were again in very keen demand, and all lines sold at prices well up to those ruling at recent sales. Following are our prices: Account W. H. Gordon, 4 and 5-year ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 33s 9d to 33s lid; cull do, 25s 6d; wether lambs, 25s 2d; b.f. lambs, 24s 4d; small lambs, Ils 7d to 19s lOd; 2-th wethers 38s fd; account T. Summers, ewe lambs 3Js lid; ewes r.w. S.D. ram, 345; 2 and, 4-th wethers, 37s lid. PAHIATUA SALE The New Zealand loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on their weekly Pahiatua sale, held on Tuesday: We submitted a yarding of 500 odd sheep to a good attendance of farmers. Sheep values remain firm, enquiry being for all classes. We quote our sales as follows: 123 ewes in lamb to S.D. rams, 335; 185 do, 36s fid; 19 do,' 295; 46 2-th wethers, 34s 6d; 19 ewes in lamb to S.D. rams, 29s 9d; 16 do, 21s (poor condition); L 7 do, 20s 4d; 1 fat lamb, 35s 6d; 5 empty potter cows, £4 18s; 8 weaner Jersey cross heifers, £4.

Sheep sold readily and we had a good clearance as follows: 50 2-th ewes r.w. Rom. and Line, rams, 37s 6d; 63 4-th to 5-year ewes r.w. S.D. rams (good), 36s 6d; 7 do, 25s 7d; 21 cull do, 17 s 7d; 51 shorn wether lambs • (forward), 24s fid; 57 wether,lambs, 22s fid; 22 m.s. lambs, 225; 22 do, 21s 2d; 37 shorn b.f. do, 17s 6d; 9 Polled cows, £5.
