WITH THE HARRIERS.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR VISIT TO WANGANUI At a meeting of the committee of the Masterton Harrier Club on Wednesday evening, the following were accorded votes of thanks in connection with the club’s recent annual ball: Masterton Auctioneering Mart, Mr. E. Winhall, Mr. A. Keats, and the club’s ladies’ committee. On Saturday, June 9, the majority of club members will visit Wanganui as guests of the Whnganui Harrier Club. The northern club is making elaborate arrangements to entertain its visitors, and all Masterton. Harriers are asked to make a special effort to go. The Benson Trophy is at stake for this inter-club race, to be run over the 6| miles New Zealand CrossCountry Championships course. The 'Wanganui Club is also giving a trophy for the Masterton members, and the Wanganui A. and P. Association, which is holding a Winter Show, will present blue ribbons to the winning team. Wanganui Harriers are strictly training for this race, and it is imperative that the Masterton Harriers shuld do the samd if they want to beat their formidable rivals. Hutt Valley Harriers will visit Masterton on Saturday, June 23, to race against the local men for possession of the Sanders Cup, over a course of five miles. The first twelve men home in each team are to count. It is understood that the New Zealand Cross-Country Championships will be held at Wanganui on July 21. To enable the Wellington Province to select a team, it is probable that the Wellington Provincial Cross-Count ry Championships will have to be held on July 14. The Wairarapa Sub-Centre has applied to the Wellington Centre for the Provincial Cross-Country championships, but so far no information has been received in Masterton concerning the request.
