CASTLBPC7ITT COUNCIL MEETING GENERAL RATES FOR CURRENT YEAR At the meeting of the Castlepoint County Council, held on Saturday last, there were present: Councillors S. Schofield (chairman), W. G. Groves, S. Holdsworth, D. H. Speedy, A. A. Schofield and W. H. Dickens. The Wairarapa Hospital Board advised that the Castlepoint County’s apportionment of levy for the current year is £582 16s 8d as compared with £391 18s for the past year. The application of A. Liddington for the renewal of his slaughterhouse license was recommended for approval. It was resolved to make application for the renewal of the unexpended Tinui-Pakowai Road and Otahome Road grant-s, and for the following additional grants: Otahome Road, £5O, £ for £; Alfredton-Tinui Road, £75, £ for £; and Ica-Woimimi Road £2OO £ for 30s. The council decided to make and levy the following general rates for the current year: North Riding, 32<16d; South Riding, 25/166; East Riding, 23/16d; West Riding, 27/IM of a penny in the £. Owing to the wet weather it was decided to postpone further metalling on ths Tinui-Pakowai Road until the spring. The treasurer was instructed to make application to the bank for an over draft limit of £3OOO for the current year. Accounts amounting to £lOO4 l.«s lOd were passad for payment.
