WOOL SALES. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated May 22:— “The auctions closed here to-day, with a good tone, Continental buyers operating freely. Opening rates, however have not been maintained. As compared with the opening rates of this series, we quote:—Greasy Merino, best, unchanged; average, id- to Id per lb lower. Greasy fine half-bred, 50/56, unchanged; greasy halfbreds, 48/50, 4d. per lb lower; greasy crossbred, 46/48, id. lower; do., 44/46, id lower; do., 40/44, id lower; do., 36/40, id lower;, scoured merino, par to 5 per cent, lower; scoured crossbred, firm and unchanged; slipes, combing, 5 to 74 per cent, lower; do., clothing, firm and unchanged.
