W. [ Barnard, who has been associated with the club since its inception, was presented with a case of pipes, as a token of esteem from the members, upon leaving to reside in Greytown. Mr. T. 8. George, of the Carterton , staff of the Bank of New South Wales, has been advised of his transfer to the head office, Wellington. He will takq ’ up his duties there in a fortnight’« time. .. Golf. The Carterton Golf Club’s second round for the medal handicap was played on the Taratahi links on Saturday afternoon, Mr. G. Hart being the ; winner with a not score of 152. Brydon, Featherston, have left on a tour of the South Island. Mrs. W. S. Reid, Featherston, is spending a holiday with her mother, I Mrs. Baxter, of Palmerston North. Tho friends of Mrs. J. W. Holland, S Featherston, will regret to learn that she is at present confined to her room i through sickness. Mr. T.
