SOCIALISTS BEATEN IN NEW YORK. (Received Wednesday, 10.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 8. Salt Lake City elected a Repuolican City Administration. New York City’s two Socialist Judges'failed to secure re-election, and all Socialist candidates for office in the State were defeated. The city of Beading, in Pennsylvania, elected a complete Socialist City Administration as a protest against the extravagance of the previous administration.,—(A. and N.Z.). MORE REPUBLICAN GAINS. (Received Wednesday, 7.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 8. New York State elected a Republican Assembly, with a majority of thity seats. Cleveland voted ito retain the city manager plan of government. Concord, New Hampshire, re-elected its male Mayor, who defeated a lady aspirant for that office. Philadelphia elected a Republican City Administration. Pennsylvania and. New York each chose Republicans to fill vacancies in the Federal House of Rep-esen-tatives. Ohio defeated a proposal, urged by the Anti-Saloon League, to restore, the fee system for justices trying liquor eases.—(“Argus.”)
