The six-inch steel pipes for connecting the five-inch water main with the new service in the Carterton Borough have arrived, and are being distributed ready for laying. The side connections in Broadway, Belvedere, and Pembroke streets will probably be ready for the 8-ineh main when it comes through the town. MADAME MENEBE’S ARRIVAL. Madame Menere expects to leave Wellington about June 10 for the Wairarapa and Hawke’s Bay districts, and will therefore be displaying her furs here very shortly. She apologises for the delay in her arrival but it has been entirely due to the phenomenal business she has been doing in Wellington, Wanganui and other centres.*
