THE ASSOCIATION GAME.
NEW ZEALAND TEAM. TO PLAY IN FIRST TEST. The sole selector' (Mr B. L. Salmon) yesterday announced that he had selected the following players to represent New Zealand in the first Test match against the Canadians at Dunedin on Saturday, June 2's:— Goal: McDougall (Canterbury). Full-backs: Anderson (Otago) and McGiri (Wellington). Half-backs: Baxter (Auckland), Steere (Buller), and Jones (Auckland), captain. Forwards: Innes (Auckland), Newman (Buller), Spencer (Auckland), Hislop (Auckland), and Balk (Otago). Emergencies: Braithwaite (Otago) and McCormack (Otago). ‘ The members of the team will assemble at Dunedin on the Tuesday before the match, and special arrangements have been made for practice. Mr H. I. Graves, treasurer of the New Zealand Football Association, will manage the New Zealand team.
