CLAIM TO MAORI BLOCK.
NAPIER, April 21. Judge Jones is hearing a claim by the Natives to 36,000 acres of Tarav. era land confiscated from the Ngatapinorau tribe in 1867, on the ground of disloyalty. ■ The Court’s task is to name the owners, the Government having granted a return of tho land to tho tribe. Tho hearing will last for several days.—(P.A)
