CAIRO-BASRA SERVICE. FIRST PILOT NEW ZEALANDER. CARIO, March 4. Captain Warner, formerly of Christchurch, will be the first pilot on the Cairo-Basra air service, which King Fuad has christened.—(A. and N.Z.) EXTENDING TO AUSTRALIA. LONDON, March 4. 'Sir Philip Sassoon, Under-Secretary for Air, answering a question in the House of Commons, said it was too early to state even an approximate date when the air service to India would be extended to Australia. The Government of India is taking preparatory steps, and is now surveying the route between Calcutta and Rangoon, and the Commonwealth is similarly arranging for flights to Singapore.—(A. anil N.Z.) A MISSING AIRMAN. SEARCH FOR LARRA BORGES, MADRID, March 4. Spanish airmen at present in Morocco have offered to search the ocean for Larra Borges, the Uruguayan major who was accompanied in his seaplane by his brother, a wireless operator, a spare pilot, and a mechanic.—(A. and N.Z.) CAPTURED BY TRIBESMEN. (Received This Day, 0.30 a.m.) MADRID, March 5. A’ wireless message from Las Palmas says that the Uruguayan seaplane was found on the beach at Canzado. Native reports state that Borges and his three companions are unhurt, but were seized by Aitlasen tribesmen.—(A. and N.Z.)
