LECTURE BY COMMANDER MARSDEN, R.N.

To morrow- evening under the aus_pices of the Masterton branch of the Navy League, Commander Arthur Marsden, R.N. will lecture in St. Matthew’s Parish Hall on ‘‘The Navy and the Empire.” Since 1921, Commander Marsden has been official lecturer to the Navy League headquarters in London. He served in the Royal Navy throughout the Great War and commanded H.M.B. Ardent at the Battle of Jutland. Commander Marsden is Conservative candidate for the constituency of N. Battersea against the Communist M.P., Mr. Saklatvata. Commander Marsden has just completed a series of lectures under the auspices of the New South Wales Navy League and arrived in Auckland by the Niagara on February 15.
