SUSPENSION OF MR. MAIR. DECISION ACCEPTED. LONDON, December 22. Messrs Mair and Ponder attended the Rugby League Council’s meeting, which lasted for two hours. At the conclusion, Mr. Osborne, the president, announced that the council approved the sub-committee’s action regarding the suspension of Mr. Mair until January 10, also the suspension of the 'players refusing to play. The council is prepared to continue the tour if Mr. Ponder carries on the management, failing which the team must depart for New Zealand on December 31. Mr. Mair can resume the managership after January 10 if he desires. It is added that Messrs Ponder and Mair accepted the decision without prejudice.—(A. and N.Z.).
