PLUNKET SHIELD.
OTAGO v. WELLINGTON. TWO STRONG TEAMS. WELLINGTON, December 23. Considerable interest attaches to the Plunket Shield match, Otago v. Wellington. The Wellington, team appears to be the most solid combination Mr. Tucker has put in the field for some seasons, while the southerners also are a particularly strong side. There is every prospect of the match producing heavy scoring, while a close and interesting finish is expected. Dickenson’s appearance is looked forward to with special interest, likewise that of Blunt and Blamires. The match will be played to a finish. The Wellington team will come from the following twelve players: Brice (captain), Hiddleston, Lowry and Worker (Hawke’s Bay), Dempster (Wanganui), Kortlang, James, Lambert, Hollings, Badcoek. and Henderson.—(P.A.).
