LABOUR DAY MATCHES. VISIT OF HUTT CLUB. DOUBLE WIN FOR WAIRARAPA. The annual visit of the Hutt Cricket Clubfc senior and junior teams to Masterton took place yesterday, when friendly matches were played on the Memorial Park before a large attendance of spectators. The Wairarapa teams w r ere successful m each instance, the seniors winning by 67 runs on the first innings, while the juniors won by an innings and 38 runs. Hutt had first strike a|.d put on 107 (Pierce not out 49). Bowling fbr Wairarapa, Torrance took six for twentyone, and Kilmister two for twenty. Wairarapa replied with 210 (James 85, Torrance <2, Montgomery 34). Bowling for Hutt, Wright took three for twenty-seven, Pierce two for forty-one. Hutt’s second effort failed to produce the required runs, the innings closing for sixty-five which left them an innings and thirty-eight runs to the bad. Wall, 24, was the principal scorer. Kilmister two for ten, Kennedy two for and Welch three for six divided the wickets.
