“JERQUES.”

The spectacular gymnastic display "Jerques,” by members of the Wellington Y.M.C.A. Gymnasium, assisted by boys of the Masterton "Y” Gymnasium, was repeated in the Opera House last night before a fair attendance. The work of the visitors was again of a very high standard, while many of the items were elevated above the plane of ordinary calesthenics by the addition of spectacular equipment and effects. In this respect the illuminated club swinging by the Wellington ladies was a particularly pretty item. The balance of the programme comprised the usual gymnastic exereis.es and drill, vocal items and sketches, while three clowns provided much amusement with their mimicry.
