• GOOD PLAY AT WANGANUI. J. C. BIDWILL QUALIFIES. WANGANUI, October 7. The Wanganui golf tourney opened at Belmont to-day under ideal conditions, the course being in first-class order. The qualifying rounds of the championship produced some great golf and nothing over an aggregate of 165 was good enough. Among those who failed to qualify were J. and L. Quin and R. G. McNiven, who ‘won the event last year. The first sixteen, all of whom qualified, were:—J. L. Black (Wellington), H. P. Dale (Eltham), Rana Wagg (Wellington), J. Harold (Wanganui), J. Carne Bidwill (Rototawai), L. Cathro (Castlecliff), I. Saunders (Wanganui), H. G. Stringer (Wanganui), D. Grant (Christchurch), J. Goss (Wanganui), C. Seymour (Christchurch), J. Hussey (Wanganui), J.
